North Dakota Nursing Continuing Education Requirements

RN Requirements

  • 12 hrs of continuing education each renewal period

LPN Requirements

  • 12 hrs of continuing education each renewal period
  • LPN: Every 2 years.
  • For renewal of prescriptive authority: 15 contact hours of education in pharmacology related to the scope of practice.

APRN Requirements

  • 12 hours of continuing education for advanced practice nurses
  • Renewal cycle: 2 years
  • Pharmacology: 15 pharmacotherapy hours if APRN has prescriptive authority
  • Required topic: Pharmacotherapy related to APRN scope of practice
