Iowa Nursing Continuing Education Requirements
Special Requirements
- RNs are required to complete the following continuing education hours every three years.
- 36 hours of continuing education
- 1 hour related to the identification and reporting of child/dependent adult abuse (for those who regularly examine, attend, counsel, or treat dependent adults or children). These courses MUST be taken through the Iowa Department of Public Health.
